LESSON TEN - 31/05/2020
Hi Parents & Carers,
Welcome to Kidzone online. This Sunday we continue with our – “Dive In” curriculum. Today’s lesson will challenge your children to share their faith with a friend this week. Is there someone in your life you need to share Christ with? Pray for the person that comes to mind by name and ask God for opportunities for you and your kids to share your faith.
Bottom Line: Share what you’ve learned in the Bible with someone.
Objective: Kids will identify something they learned reading the Bible this week and someone they want to share that with.
Memory Verse: Psalm 119:105 – “Your word is like a lamp that shows me the way. It is like a light that guides me.” (NIrV)
Scripture to read: Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Hear O Israel
Summary: God gave his Word – The Law – to the Israelite people. He wanted them to follow his instructions and carry it with them wherever they were. The Bible should not just be a book we talk about on Sunday. We should read it, talk about it, and think about it throughout our day, each day. Just like snorkelling or scuba diving, you’d want to tell your friends about your amazing discoveries, we can do the same thing with what we learn in God’s Word.
Activity: Have the kids make megaphones by rolling construction paper into cones and taping it together. Before rolling the paper, you can let kids decorate it and encourage them to write “Jesus Loves You” on the paper as a reminder to tell others about Jesus’ love for them.
Make this week’s lesson real: Take some extra time each day to talk about your day and your kids’ day. Listen when they have exciting news. Then remind them we need to be looking for opportunities to share the Bible and Jesus with others.
Here are some great discussion starters:
- How often should we be thinking about God’s Word?
- Is it important to share the Bible other people?
- Have you shared something you read in the Bible with a friend this week?
Quiz your child on this week’s memory verse.
Help us share what we are learning with our friends. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Thank you for your support and may God bless you all!
