LESSON ELEVEN - 07/06/2020

07/06/2020

Hi Parents & Carers,

Welcome to Kidzone online. Today’s lesson is the last lesson of our “Dive In” Series. If your kids take up the challenge to read the Bible every day this year, why not read with them? It’s a great chance to grow closer to the Lord and to your child. Encourage them gently. Don’t command or order the to get it done. We want them to WANT to read the Bible, so make it a positive experience all the way.

Bottom Line: Read the Bible every day, and memorise Bible verses weekly.

Objective: Kids will make a calendar for the next year, and plan out what they plan to read and memorise in the Bible each month so that they continue their habit of daily Bible reading.

Memory Verse: Psalm 119:105 – “Your word is like a lamp that shows me the way. It is like a light that guides me.” (NIrV)

SONGS:

Scripture to read: Acts 6:1-7, The Choosing of the Seven

VIDEO LESSON:

Summary: Snorkelling can be hard. It’s easier to sit on the beach, or even just sit at home. But if you do that, you’ll never see the beautiful things God has created beneath the surface. The Twelve apostles had many responsibilities in the early church. Those responsibilities threatened to distract them from their main task: to pray and to study and share God’s Word. So they selected seven good men to help them, so they could stay focused. The world is full of distractions; like the apostles, we must make studying God’s word a daily habit for the rest of our lives.

Activity: Use the included one-year Bible reading plan template to create a suggested reading and Bible memorisation list for your kids to follow for the remaining year and beyond.

Weekly Tasks:

Make this week’s lesson real: Take some extra time each day to talk about your day and your kids’ day. Listen when they have exciting news. Then remind them we need to be looking for opportunities to share the Bible and Jesus with others.

AT DINNER:

Here are some great discussion starters:

- Why did the apostles appoint new leaders to help them?

- Why is it important to read the Bible every day?

- Are you ready to read the Bible every day for the next year?

AT BEDTIME:

Quiz your child on this week’s memory verse.

Prayer:

Dear God,

Speak to us through your Bible, every day of the year! Amen.

Thank you for your support and may God bless you all!
