LESSON FOUR - 19/04/2020
Hi Parents & Carers,
Welcome to Kidzone online. Here is a fun activity for our Church One Kids and families.
Theme: Time Machine
Bottom Line: There is always time to serve God.
Summary: Kids will learn that God gives us the time we need to do his will.
Aim: Each of us get the same 24 hours in the day, but for some that doesn’t seem to be enough time to do all that has to be done. Kids will learn that when we are doing what God has asked us to do, he gives us the time we need to accomplish it.
Memory verse: “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NIV)
Scripture to read:
Joshua 10:1-15 The Sun Stands Still
VIDEO FOR TODAY'S LESSON:
Activity: Cut construction paper into large circles. Have kids write the memory verse around the outside edge of the circle. Have kids colour their sun with oranges, reds and yellow as they like.
Make this week’s lesson real: Use a stopwatch to time some of the activities you and your kids do every week – chores, homework, bedtime rituals. Discuss what it means that God gives us “a time for every activity under heaven.”
Here are some great discussion starters:
Why did the Israelites fight on the side of the people of Gibeon?
Why did God stop the sun from moving in the sky?
What assurance did God give Joshua before the battle began?
Quiz your child on this week’s memory verse:
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” -Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NIV)
Parent time: Don’t become a slave to the clock. Leave room in your schedule for family, friends, and Christ. Don’t live your life so regimented that you don’t have space for God to do the unexpected in your life.
There are so many ways we can spend our time. Please help us to do the things that you want us to do, and thank you for helping us to get it all done. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Thank you for your support and may God bless you all!
