LESSON SEVEN - 10/05/2020
Hi Parents & Carers,
Welcome to Kidzone online. This Sunday is Mother’s Day!! When was the last time you thanked the “super mum” in your life for all she did for you? If that special person is available, give them a HUGE HUG, call or visit them today and let them know how much you truly appreciate all their sacrifice!
Bottom Line: Super Mums remind us of God’s Super Love.
Objective: Kids will thank God for their super mums (or the person in their life who is like a mum).
Memory verse: “Children, obey your parents as believers in the Lord. Obey them because it’s the right thing to do.” – Ephesians 6:1 (NIrV)
Scripture to read: Exodus 2:1-10, Jochebed Saves Her Son
Summary: Mums are a lot like superheroes. They do it all! They feed us. They comfort us when we’re sad or scared. They help us feel better when we’re sick or hurt. Even for those of us who don’t have a mum, there is probably someone in your life who does some of these super things for you. And whoever that super person is deserves some extra love today.
Activity: Have the kids make an “action figure” of their super mum. They can use toilet paper rolls or craft sticks to be Mum’s body and draw a face and a “super suit” on them. Then they can cut out a cape from felt (or any material) if they so choose and stick it on Mum.
Make this week’s lesson real: Encourage your kids to do an extra chore or lend an extra hand to the special “super mum” in their life.
Here are some great discussion starters:
- How did Jochebed protect her son Moses?
- What are some things your Mum does for you every week?
- How does a mother’s love teach us about the love of God?
Quiz your child on this week’s memory verse.
Thank you for the love of our mums. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Thank you for your support and may God bless you all!
